Swarakalpana at Alamganj Barowari - Bardhaman
The 75th year celebration of Alamganj Barowari Durga Puja in Bardhaman witnessed a cultural extravaganza with Swarkalpana Jalsa Sur Ki, organised by Tabla Inc. and Lalbaba Rice on 25th September 2025. Curated by the world-renowned percussion maestro Pt. Tanmoy Bose, the evening was an exceptional blend of devotion, tradition, and musical brilliance. The program commenced with the Durga Stotram sung by Sagnik Sen, creating a divine atmosphere. Soon after, Pt. Bose made a grand entry with his celebrated percussion ensemble Taaltantra. The group delivered several breathtaking pieces that fused rhythm with melody, interspersed with soulful folk songs that touched the hearts of the audience. Performances by Krishna Das Bairagya, with his heartfelt rendition of “Shai Amar Kokhon Khyale Kon Khyela”, and Akkas Ali Khan, with his moving folk numbers, brought alive the cultural essence of Bengal and elevated the evening to an entirely new dimension.
Adding to the charm of the event was a special appearance by three exceptionally talented child prodigies, handpicked and mentored by Pt. Tanmoy Bose from the newly launched Zee Bangla Shonar music reality show. Their extraordinary performances reflected a rare blend of innocence, confidence, and musical maturity that left the audience mesmerised. Their energy and talent proved that the future of music is in safe hands under the guidance of such a visionary. As the evening progressed, the rhythm-heavy narrative of Taaltantra created waves of applause and wonder among the audience, with each composition flowing seamlessly into the next, demonstrating both precision and passion. The balance of classical structure with folk spontaneity truly stood out as the defining element of the concert.
The crowning glory of the evening was the much-awaited Taalvadya, one of Pt. Tanmoy Bose’s most iconic presentations. Featuring Padma Shri awardee Shri Gokul Das on the dhaak, the performance captured the very spirit of Durga Puja. His thunderous beats in perfect synergy with Pt. Bose’s mastery on the Bangla dhol created an electrifying jugalbandi that had the audience spellbound. The event concluded on a high note with Taaltarang, performed by Pt. Bose’s eminent disciples, whose dedication and brilliance reflected the depth of their training and the vision of their guru. It was a night where tradition met innovation, where rhythm embraced devotion, and where music became the ultimate offering to the Goddess. Truly, a grand celebration worthy of Bardhaman’s historic 75th year of Durga Puja.

Kolkata, the cultural capital of India, has always thrived on such vibrant artistic exchanges. Inspired by this legacy, Tabla.inc was created to support all genres of the performing arts.
Under this initiative:
• Masters and disciples will share the stage.
• Renowned musicians from around the world will perform in a series of 5–6 concerts each year.
• A platform for liberal arts will encourage frequent sessions, benefiting both artists and audiences.
• Mehfil evenings will nurture engagement with living traditions, enabling listeners to interact closely with art in its purest form.
